Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in Education refers to the process of acquiring and applying the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. In Physical Education, SEL is integrated into the curriculum to help students develop self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making through physical activity and movement. Physical Education Theory provides a foundation for understanding how SEL can be effectively taught and implemented in Physical Education programs. By promoting SEL in Physical Education, educators can create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the holistic development of students.
