Athletic Training: The application and theory of evidence-based practices in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. It encompasses the development of individualized programs to enhance athletic performance, maintain optimal fitness and promote overall health and well-being. Athletic training incorporates knowledge from various fields including exercise science, kinesiology, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition and psychology, and is delivered by qualified professionals in a variety of settings such as schools, universities, professional sports teams, hospitals and clinics, and fitness centers.
