Definition of College Health Education as it relates to Education, Health Education, Public Health

College Health Education encompasses the study and practice of promoting physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being among college students through education, prevention, and intervention programs. It is an interdisciplinary field that draws from public health, education, psychology, sociology, and other related areas to address various health issues affecting young adults in higher education settings. The focus of College Health Education includes but not limited to sexual health, mental health, substance abuse, nutrition, physical activity, injury prevention, and chronic disease management. College Health Educators work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that foster holistic development and success for college students.
