Social Work Education
Social work education encompasses the teaching and learning of knowledge, values, and skills required to promote social change, problem-solving in human relationships, and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being. It incorporates health education, which focuses on preventing diseases and promoting healthy behaviors, as well as education more broadly. Social work education prepares students to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities to address social issues and improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations. It is grounded in a set of ethical principles that guide social workers' practice and emphasizes the importance of cultural competence, self-awareness, and critical thinking. Social work education also involves ongoing professional development and lifelong learning to stay current with emerging trends and best practices in the field.
