Definition of School Health Education as it relates to Education, Health Education, Disease Prevention

School Health Education refers to the systematic process of imparting knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for adolescents to maintain and improve their health, prevent diseases, and make informed decisions about their health behaviors in school settings. It encompasses a broad range of topics including but not limited to nutrition, physical activity, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, injury prevention, and substance use prevention. The ultimate goal is to empower students to become responsible for their own health and well-being, and contribute to creating healthy school environments that promote lifelong healthy habits.
