Geodes
Geodes are naturally occurring hollow formations within rocks, typically composed of various minerals and sometimes containing crystalline structures. They begin as gas bubbles in volcanic or sedimentary rock, gradually filling with mineral-rich fluids over time. As these fluids cool and solidify, they can create a variety of stunning crystal patterns and colors inside the geode's cavity. The outer shell of a geode is usually made up of chalcedony, agate, or quartz, which provides a protective layer for the delicate crystals within. Geodes come in many shapes, sizes, and types, making them highly sought after by collectors for their beauty and rarity. They are often found in areas with volcanic activity or near sedimentary rock formations. The study of geodes falls under the broader field of geology and mineralogy, providing valuable insights into the earth's geological history and processes.
