Tankards
A tankard is a type of drinking vessel, traditionally made of silver, pewter, wood, or ceramic materials, characterized by its sturdy construction and handle. Tankards are often associated with the serving and consumption of beer, particularly in social settings such as taverns and pubs. They typically have a hinged lid to help maintain the temperature and carbonation of the beverage inside. The term "tankard" is sometimes used interchangeably with "beer mug," although the latter generally refers to a similar but simpler type of drinking vessel without a lid. Collectible tankards, which can be made from a variety of materials including glassware, are often sought after by enthusiasts for their unique designs and historical significance.
