Definition of Employment Law as it relates to Business, Business Law, Tort Law

Employment Law governs the rights and obligations between employers and employees. It encompasses a wide range of legal issues, including hiring practices, workplace safety, discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour disputes. Employment Law is rooted in both Business Law and Tort Law, as it involves the regulation of business practices as well as addressing harm caused by those practices. The purpose of Employment Law is to ensure fair treatment, equal opportunity, and safe working conditions for all employees while balancing the interests of businesses.
