Real Estate Law encompasses the set of legal rules and regulations governing the ownership, development, transfer, use, and disposal of real property, including land, buildings, and fixtures. It intersects with Business Law when dealing with commercial real estate transactions, leases, zoning, land use restrictions, environmental issues, and title disputes. Real Estate Law also covers residential real estate matters such as home purchases, sales, mortgages, and property management. Additionally, it includes eminent domain, nuisance, easements, trespassing, and adverse possession laws.
