Bibles

Definition of Bibles as it relates to Books, Religious Books, Prayer Books

"Bibles" encompasses sacred texts revered in various religious traditions, primarily Christianity. As the central text of Christianity, the Bible is divided into two main sections: the Old Testament, which predates the birth of Jesus Christ and contains writings considered sacred by Jews and Christians alike; and the New Testament, which focuses on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as well as the establishment and early growth of the Christian Church. Bibles come in various forms, translations, and editions, often including study aids, cross-references, maps, and devotional material to facilitate deeper understanding and application of biblical teachings. Prayer books, while distinct from Bibles, may be included as an accessory due to their frequent use among Christians for private and communal worship. Religious books, in general, cover a broad range of spiritual, theological, and devotional literature that complements and expands upon biblical teachings and principles, but they are not to be confused with Bibles themselves.
