Pressure Plates
Intercoolers are an essential component in automotive engines, particularly those with forced induction systems such as turbochargers or superchargers. They serve to cool the compressed air generated by these systems before it enters the engine's combustion chamber. By reducing the temperature of this air, intercoolers improve the engine's volumetric efficiency and overall performance, increasing horsepower and torque while also reducing the risk of engine knocking or detonation caused by excessively high intake temperatures. They are typically installed in the automotive undercarriage, either as front-mounted intercoolers (FMIC) that draw cooler air from the vehicle's grille, or as top-mounted intercoolers (TMIC) that sit atop the engine and draw air from the engine bay. Intercoolers are often sold as part of clutch kits, which include all the necessary components for replacing a vehicle's clutch system, including the intercooler, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
