Clutch Kits are an essential component in automotive transmissions, designed for clutch repair and replacement purposes. They encompass a set of interconnected parts working synchronously to engage and disengage power transmission from the engine to the transmission. These kits typically comprise of a clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, and pilot bearing or bushing. The clutch disc, positioned between the flywheel and the pressure plate, is responsible for transmitting torque from the engine to the transmission. It features a friction material that enables smooth engagement and disengagement of power. The pressure plate, connected to the clutch disc, exerts clamping force on the clutch disc via springs or a diaphragm. This mechanism allows the clutch disc to either engage with the flywheel (transmitting power) or disengage from it (interrupting power flow). The release bearing, also known as the throw-out bearing, facilitates the disengagement process by pushing against the pressure plate's diaphragm or lever when the clutch pedal is depressed. Lastly, the pilot bearing or bushing ensures a smooth interface between the transmission input shaft and the clutch disc's splines, reducing wear and tear on these components.
