Torsion bar suspension is an automotive suspension system design that utilizes one or more torsion bars as its main springing element. In a torsion bar suspension, these bars are mounted horizontally between the vehicle's chassis and axle or lower control arm, with one end of each bar connected to the frame and the other end connected to a wishbone or trailing arm. When the vehicle encounters a bump or dip in the road, the force is transferred to the torsion bar, causing it to twist and absorb the impact. The resulting motion raises or lowers the wheel, maintaining proper ride height and providing a smooth, stable ride for passengers.
