NeoPop

Definition of NeoPop as it relates to Art, Pop Art, Movements

Dada is an avant-garde art movement that emerged during World War I in Zurich, Switzerland. It was characterized by its rejection of traditional artistic values and its embrace of chaos, nonsense, and irrationality as a form of protest against the senseless violence and destruction of war. Dada artists sought to subvert conventional notions of beauty and meaning, often using provocative and absurd imagery to challenge the status quo. The movement spread to other cities, including Berlin, Paris, and New York, and had a significant influence on later art movements such as Surrealism and Pop Art. At its core, Dada was a nihilistic and subversive response to the horrors of war and the cultural upheaval of the early 20th century.
