Building upon the foundations of avant-garde and Fauvist art, NeoExpressionists sought to break away from the prevailing minimalism and conceptualism that dominated the art world during that time. Their works often feature bold brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and exaggerated forms, all aimed at evoking strong emotional responses in the viewer. While it is not a direct continuation of earlier movements, NeoExpressionism shares their spirit of innovation and rebellion against conventional artistic norms.
