Energy Modeling
Daylighting refers to the practice of using natural light from the sun to illuminate interior spaces in buildings, with the aim of reducing energy consumption and creating more comfortable and visually appealing environments. This approach involves designing building elements such as windows, skylights, and clerestories to optimize the entry and distribution of sunlight, while also controlling glare and heat gain. Daylighting can contribute to green building goals by reducing the need for artificial lighting and HVAC systems, and improving occupant health and well-being through exposure to natural light. Effective daylighting design requires a multidisciplinary approach that considers architectural, engineering, and environmental factors, as well as user needs and preferences.
