Clouded Leopards
Clouded Leopards are elusive and secretive medium-sized wild cats native to Southeast Asia. They are characterized by their distinctive coat pattern, which features large, irregularly shaped cloud-like markings on a golden background. Clouded Leopards are highly adaptable predators that can climb both trees and rocks with ease, making them skilled hunters in diverse habitats such as forests, grasslands, and mountainous regions. They primarily feed on small to medium-sized mammals, birds, and reptiles. In zoos, they require spacious enclosures that mimic their natural habitat, providing opportunities for climbing, hiding, and hunting. Despite their name, Clouded Leopards are not closely related to leopards but are instead part of a distinct genus within the Felidae family.
