Biosecurity
Biosecurity refers to measures and practices aimed at preventing the spread of diseases among animals, particularly farm animals such as chickens. It involves implementing safeguards to protect animals from infectious agents, ensuring their health and welfare, and minimizing the risk of zoonotic diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans. Biosecurity measures may include restricting access to animal housing facilities, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, monitoring animal health, implementing vaccination programs, and managing waste and other potential sources of infection. The goal of biosecurity is to maintain a healthy and safe environment for animals and prevent the emergence and spread of diseases that can have significant economic, social, and public health impacts.
