Data Structures are specialized formats for organizing, processing, retrieving and storing data in a computer system. They define the relationship between the data, and the operations that can be performed on the data. Efficient Data Structures can reduce time complexity from O(n) to O(log n) which makes a significant difference in large-scale systems especially those involving Artificial Neural Networks or any other subfield of Artificial Intelligence. They are fundamental to Computer Science as they provide a means to manage and interact with data effectively, thereby enabling the creation of efficient algorithms and software applications.
