Hellgrammite
A hellgrammite is the larval form of a dobsonfly, typically found in freshwater habitats. It has a long, segmented body with six legs on each segment, strong mandibles for feeding, and gills along its abdomen for breathing underwater. Hellgrammites are voracious predators, feeding on small aquatic insects and invertebrates. They are important members of aquatic ecosystems, serving as both prey for larger animals and predators themselves.
