Hamstrings

The hamstrings are a group of three muscles located on the back of the thigh. They include the biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus muscles. The hamstrings are responsible for bending the knee and extending the hip. They play a crucial role in walking, running, and other lower body movements. Injuries to the hamstrings are common among athletes and can result in pain, weakness, and limited mobility. Stretching and strengthening exercises can help prevent hamstring injuries and improve overall lower body function.
