Great Auk
The Great Auk was a large, flightless bird that was native to the North Atlantic region. It had black and white feathers, a distinctive beak, and webbed feet for swimming. The Great Auk was known for its clumsy movements on land but was an excellent swimmer, using its wings to propel itself through the water in search of fish. Unfortunately, due to overhunting for its feathers, eggs, and meat, the Great Auk became extinct in the mid-19th century.
