Gray SealsSea Mammals
Gray seals are large marine mammals that belong to the Phocidae family. They have a thick layer of blubber under their skin to keep them warm in cold waters. Gray seals are known for their distinctive gray coloration and V-shaped nostrils. They are excellent swimmers and spend much of their time in the water, feeding on fish, crustaceans, and mollusks. These seals are commonly found along the coasts of the North Atlantic Ocean, where they breed and raise their young pups on rocky shores.
