Glucocorticoid
Glucocorticoids are a group of steroid hormones that are produced in the adrenal cortex. They are involved in a variety of physiological processes, including metabolism, immune response, and stress regulation. Glucocorticoids have anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, making them useful in the treatment of conditions such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. Examples of glucocorticoids include cortisol, cortisone, and prednisone.
