Gallstones
Gallstones are hardened deposits that form in the gallbladder, a small organ located beneath the liver. These stones can vary in size and composition, with some being made of cholesterol and others of bilirubin. Gallstones can cause blockages in the bile ducts, leading to symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, nausea, and jaundice. Treatment options may include medication to dissolve the stones, shock wave therapy to break them up, or surgical removal of the gallbladder.
