Freshwater Tunicates
Freshwater tunicates are aquatic filter-feeding organisms that belong to the phylum Chordata. They are small, translucent animals with a sac-like body and two siphons for drawing in water and expelling waste. Freshwater tunicates are found in bodies of freshwater such as lakes, ponds, and rivers, where they attach themselves to submerged surfaces such as rocks or plants. These organisms play a vital role in aquatic ecosystems by filtering out microscopic organisms and particles from the water for food.
