Folk Rock
Folk rock is a genre of music that combines elements of traditional folk music with rock and roll. It typically features acoustic instruments such as guitars, banjos, and mandolins, as well as vocal harmonies and introspective lyrics. Folk rock emerged in the mid-1960s as a response to the commercialization of folk music, blending the storytelling and social commentary of traditional folk songs with the energy and instrumentation of rock music. Artists such as Bob Dylan, The Byrds, and Joni Mitchell are often associated with the genre. Folk rock remains popular today, with contemporary artists continuing to draw inspiration from both folk and rock traditions.
