Feudal System

A feudal system is a social and economic structure that was prevalent in medieval Europe, characterized by a hierarchical network of relationships between lords, vassals, and serfs. Land ownership and control were central to the feudal system, with land being granted by a lord to a vassal in exchange for loyalty and military service. Serfs, who were typically peasants bound to the land, worked the land in exchange for protection from their lord. This system of land ownership and obligations formed the basis of political and social organization during the Middle Ages.
