Fasting in Christianity
Fasting in Christianity refers to the practice of abstaining from food or certain types of food for a period of time as a form of spiritual discipline. It is often observed during Lent, a season of repentance and preparation for Easter, as well as on other designated days throughout the liturgical calendar. Fasting is believed to help Christians focus on prayer, self-control, and dependence on God, as well as to remind them of the sacrifices made by Jesus Christ.
