European Union Council
The European Union Council is made up of the heads of state or government of the EU member countries, along with the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission. It is responsible for providing the EU with political direction and priorities, and represents the highest level of political decision-making within the EU. The Council meets in various configurations depending on the topic being discussed, with each member country represented at an appropriate level.
