Engineering Controls
Engineering controls refer to the physical or mechanical methods put in place to control workplace hazards and risks. These controls are designed to isolate workers from hazards, remove or reduce exposure to hazards, and create a safer work environment. Engineering controls typically involve the use of machinery, equipment, or other physical changes to the work environment to eliminate or minimize risks to workers. Some examples of engineering controls include ventilation systems, machine guards, noise barriers, and ergonomic workstations.
