Endomitosis
Endomitosis is a type of cell division where a cell duplicates its chromosomes without undergoing cytokinesis, resulting in a cell with multiple sets of chromosomes within a single nucleus. This process can lead to the formation of polyploid cells, which have more than the usual two sets of chromosomes. Endomitosis is commonly seen in certain tissues, such as in the development of megakaryocytes, which are responsible for blood clotting.
