Elephantiasis
Elephantiasis is a condition characterized by the massive enlargement and thickening of the skin and underlying tissues, typically affecting the legs, arms, genitals, or breasts. It is caused by obstruction of the lymphatic vessels, leading to the accumulation of fluid and swelling in the affected areas. This condition can result in disfigurement, disability, and secondary infections if left untreated. Elephantiasis is most commonly caused by parasitic infections, such as lymphatic filariasis, but can also be a result of other underlying medical conditions or genetic factors.
