Eclampsia
Eclampsia is a life-threatening complication of pregnancy characterized by the sudden onset of seizures, often accompanied by high blood pressure and protein in the urine. It is considered a severe form of preeclampsia, a condition that can develop in pregnant women typically after 20 weeks of gestation and is marked by high blood pressure and signs of damage to other organ systems. Eclampsia requires immediate medical attention to prevent serious complications for both the mother and the baby.
