Doric Dialects

Doric dialects refer to a group of closely related varieties of the Ancient Greek language spoken mainly in the region of Doris in central Greece, as well as in several colonies in southern Italy and Sicily. Characterized by distinct phonological, morphological, and syntactic features, Doric dialects were used in literary works such as poetry and drama, contributing to the rich tapestry of ancient Greek literature.
