Dogfishes
Dogfishes are a diverse group of small to medium-sized sharks belonging to the family Squalidae. They are characterized by their elongated bodies, pointed snouts, and sharp teeth. Dogfishes are typically found in temperate and tropical waters worldwide, where they feed on a variety of prey including fish, squid, and crustaceans. Some species of dogfishes are known to exhibit bioluminescence, producing a greenish glow in dark waters. These sharks play an important role in marine ecosystems as both predators and prey.
