Coverslip

A coverslip is a small, thin, and transparent piece of glass or plastic that is used to cover a specimen on a microscope slide. It protects the specimen from dust and damage, as well as helps to spread out any mounting medium that may have been used. Coverslips are essential for viewing specimens under a microscope as they provide a flat surface for clear and focused viewing. They come in various sizes to fit different sizes of microscope slides and are typically held in place with a drop of mounting medium or adhesive.
