Continental Islands
Continental Islands are landmasses that are surrounded by water and are larger than small islands, but smaller than continents. These islands are typically located on continental shelves, and were once connected to a mainland before sea levels rose. They are often characterized by diverse ecosystems and unique plant and animal species. Examples of continental islands include Great Britain, Madagascar, and Greenland.
