Carnatic Classical Music

Carnatic Classical Music is a form of classical music that originated in the southern regions of India, particularly in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala. It is known for its intricate rhythmic patterns, melodic structures, and improvisational techniques. Carnatic music is primarily vocal-centric, with instruments such as the veena, violin, flute, and mridangam also playing a significant role in performances. The compositions in Carnatic music are typically devotional in nature, praising Hindu deities and expressing emotions such as love and devotion. The music is taught through a guru-shishya parampara (teacher-disciple tradition) and has a rich history spanning several centuries.
