Caribbean Monk Seals
Caribbean Monk Seals were a species of earless seals native to the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. They were characterized by their grayish-brown fur, streamlined bodies, and whiskered faces. Caribbean Monk Seals were known for their solitary nature and preferred to inhabit remote, sandy beaches and shallow waters. Unfortunately, they were declared extinct in 2008 due to overhunting and habitat destruction.
