Burramyidae
Burramyidae is a family of small to medium-sized marsupials commonly known as pygmy possums. They are characterized by their small size, prehensile tails, and nocturnal habits. Pygmy possums are found in Australia, New Guinea, and Indonesia, where they inhabit a variety of habitats including forests, woodlands, and heathlands. These animals have a diet that consists mainly of insects, fruits, and nectar. They are unique among marsupials for their ability to enter torpor, a state of reduced metabolic activity, to conserve energy during periods of food scarcity.
