Blackcrowned Night Heron
The Blackcrowned Night Heron is a medium-sized bird with a stocky body, short legs, and a thick, dagger-like bill. It has a black crown and back, gray wings and underparts, and red eyes. This species is primarily nocturnal and feeds on fish, insects, crustaceans, and small mammals.
