Beaked Whales
Beaked whales are a group of marine mammals belonging to the family Ziphiidae. They are characterized by their distinctively long, narrow beaks and often have a bulbous forehead called a melon. Beaked whales are known for their deep-diving abilities, with some species reaching depths of over 9,800 feet. They are typically found in deep offshore waters and are known to be elusive and difficult to study due to their deep-sea habitat.
