Barnacles Sea Creatures
Barnacles are small marine crustaceans that attach themselves to hard surfaces such as rocks, piers, and the hulls of ships. They have a hard outer shell and feathery appendages called cirri that they use to filter feed on plankton and other small organisms in the water. Barnacles are hermaphroditic, meaning they have both male and female reproductive organs, and can reproduce by internal fertilization or by releasing sperm and eggs into the water. These unique sea creatures are an important part of marine ecosystems, providing habitat for other organisms and serving as food for a variety of marine animals.
