Anglerfishes

Anglerfishes are a group of bony fish characterized by their distinctive method of predation, in which a fleshy growth from the fish's head acts as a lure to attract prey. These deep-sea-dwelling fish are typically dark in coloration and have large mouths filled with sharp teeth. They are known for their unique reproductive habits, in which the much smaller males attach themselves to the much larger females, eventually fusing with them and becoming dependent on the female for nutrients.
