Amitosis

Amitosis is a type of cell division that occurs in unicellular organisms and some specialized cells in multicellular organisms. It involves the splitting of the cell's nucleus into two equal parts without the formation of a distinct mitotic spindle or the breakdown of the nuclear envelope. This process does not involve the typical phases of mitosis, such as prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Amitosis is a simpler and less regulated form of cell division compared to mitosis and meiosis.
