American Redstart
The American Redstart is a small, migratory songbird found in North and South America. It is known for its striking black and orange plumage, with the male having more vibrant colors than the female. American Redstarts are often found in wooded areas, where they flit about catching insects in mid-air. They have a distinctive habit of flashing their wings and tail, which is thought to startle prey into moving so they can catch it more easily. These birds are known for their energetic and acrobatic foraging behavior, making them a delight to observe in their natural habitat.
