Aliphatic Compounds
Aliphatic compounds are organic compounds that do not contain aromatic rings. They are characterized by straight or branched carbon chains, as opposed to cyclic structures. Aliphatic compounds can be saturated, meaning that they contain only single bonds between carbon atoms, or unsaturated, containing double or triple bonds. These compounds are diverse in nature and can include alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and other derivatives.
